Hidden Dagger Adventures leads trips on the privately owned Dead Horse Mountain Ranch and Big Bend region located in the rugged and wild country of West Texas.

Our Mission

To build a strong and positive community through the experiences we share in the outdoors. We wish to share this private land with others and create a unique adventure that will bring all walks of life closer together.

the Experience

In this day and age, exploring remote and truly wild places is getting harder to find. We strive to protect, conserve, and share a piece of the beauty and history of the Chihuahuan Desert. Occupying parts of the Rio Grande Valley in New Mexico and stretching as far south as Zacatecas, Mexico, the Chihuahuan Desert is the second largest desert in North America. Wake up to see the sun rising over Mexico’s wild, mountainous land and fall asleep under the unsurmountable Texas night sky. Our incredibly unique trips will offer both adventure and privacy to those who seek the ultimate West Texas experience.

What To expect

  • Over 10,000 acres of land to yourself. As a private ranch, we lead day hikes, overnight canoe, backpacking trips, and jeep rides through the rarely seen land on the outskirts of Big Bend National Park.

  • Experience and learn the ways of remote desert life, human history, geology, culture, and wildlife of the area.

  • Take part in the effort to conserve and protect the fragile ecosystem of the Chihuahuan Desert.

  • Personal instructors who are there to lead and assist you on daily and/or multi day adventures.

  • We are here to create a fun, communal environment. We enjoy family dinners and highly encourage our guests to offer assistance with meals.

  • We welcome and actively seek a diverse community and do not discriminate against race, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, and/or creed.

  • We offer optional evening programs and events.

  • We provide all food, lodging, and transportation to the ranch from Marathon, TX.

To be whole. To be complete. Wildness reminds us what it means to be human, what we are connected to rather than what we are separate from.
