Owner and Founder of Hidden Dagger Adventures

Tara’s love for adventure and family roots in the desert of West Texas prompted her to share her passion for community, adventure and conservation with the world through her company, Hidden Dagger Adventures. She has worked for various companies in the outdoor field, including Outward Bound California, and is thrilled to be back in her home state of Texas to deliver top notch trips.

 

Alicia Wright

Program/Site Coordinator

Alicia comes from a river family in Northwest Colorado and has been on the river most of her life. In 2013, she moved to Moab, Utah and became a full-time river guide on the Colorado Plateau. The Rio Grande enticed her to the Big Bend Region in the winter of 2017. Alicia fell in love with the Chihuahua Desert, the diverse cultures of the international border, and the vibrant history of Texas. Her passions have propelled her to lead hiking trips through the Big Bend National Park to share what she has learned along the way.

 

Joe Lorenz

Assistant Manager/Safety Director

After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Norbert College and a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Copenhagen, Joe shifted to the outdoor industry after completing a Wilderness EMT certification from NOLS in 2018. Joe worked as an EMT in Terlingua, Texas and on wildland fire crews in Fairbanks, Alaska as well as Elko, Nevada the past 3 fire seasons. Joe is from Wisconsin where he grew up enjoying ice fishing and exploring the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Safety is our top priority

At Hidden Dagger Adventures we are trained to assess and mitigate risk on the trips we lead. As risk managers, we identify hazards and approach our activities based on each group’s capabilities. All of our guides are CPR certified as well as Wilderness First Responders, an 80-hour wilderness medicine training that must be renewed every 2-3 years.
